Come and Celebrate ‘San Diego River Days’ at the Old Mission Dam

The San Diego Plein Air Painters Meetup Group is teaming up with the San Diego River Park Foundation (SDRPF) to celebrate and raise public awareness of the work of the Foundation in restoring natural habitat along the San Diego River watershed. 

Spend a quiet morning capturing the natural beauty of the San Diego River on canvas. Beginner-intermediate artists welcome. You’ll receive tips from local professional and hobbyist painters! Bring your own painting supplies. Please bring water and clothes that can get a bit paint-y.

Optional, recommended items: umbrella, sun protection, and a snack.
Appropriate Ages: Adults and children ages 12+

Bring your kids to the Point Loma Native Plant Garden for a morning of plein air painting. Team up with San Diego Plein Air Meetup Group artists Tricia DeLuna, Jean Petaja & Julie Bradbury-Bennett to create original works depicting scenes from around the garden. 

Stay for a little while or longer... just as you like. This is a free, informal event for those who love both the outdoors and art. Materials will be provided. Finished art will become part of the San Diego River Park Garden-Beautification Project.
